Mini-Review and Trailer - D.A.R.Y.L.

This movie features a yong boy who ends up in foster care - but it soon becomes apparent that he's no ordinary boy. It has many of the hallmarks of eighties children's movies - a sense of magic and wonder, an infinite amount of cheesiness, and visual effects that must have seemed impressive at the time but look unbelievably dated now. Though it's only a PG one of the young boys frequently uses cuss words, which is perhaps realistic but hardly necessary. Overall it's a nice enough story and done quite well, young children will probably enjoy it but might find the visuals too old-fashioned for their interest to be sustained.

This movie reminded me a lot of of Flight of the Navigator. If you liked that, you'll probably enjoy this.
