DuckTales: The Movie - Treasure of the Lost Lamp (1990)

How do you go into a room and get random people to go "Woo-Hoo"? Easy... select a room containing people in their thirties, walk in an shout "DuckTales!". It's an automatic reaction based on the theme tune.

I fondly remember DuckTales, as does my wife, and one of my colleagues (the others are all too old!) - so while ostensibly we bought DuckTales: The Movie for our daughter, really we just wanted to see it ourselves. Though judging by the fact that our 3-month old was already quite interested in watching it, we may have seen it a hundred times in a few years' time...

Anyway, it's silly and fun, and features Scrooge McDuck finally getting his hands on an ancient treasure; he's been looking for it for 40 years - but when he manages this, an evil sorcerer named Morlock (voiced by the irrepressible Christopher Lloyd) is willing to do anything to get it himself. Added to this the real treasure, a genie in a lamp, causes havoc in the hands of Huey, Dewey, Louie and Webbigal - but will do worse (much against his will) if Morlock gets his hands on him.

It's very undemanding but a lot of fun, with some good dialogue and lots of sight gags. Great family entertainment. I might have to get hold of the series now...
