BBC Films' StreetDance to premiere on BBC One on Bank Holiday Monday

BBC One is to premiere the UK Box Office Smash of 2010, BBC Films’ STREETDANCE, which stars George Sampson, Flawless and Diversity on Bank Holiday Monday 29th August at 13:55.

Directed by award-winning duo Max & Dania, the story follows the exploits of a London dance crew training for the UK Street Dance Championships, who are forced to work with ballet dancers from the Royal Dance School in return for rehearsal space.  With no common ground and with passions riding high, they have to find a way to join forces if they are to beat the reigning champions.  Charlotte Rampling (The Duchess, Swimming Pool) heads a diverse cast of new and emerging talent including Nichola Burley ( Love & Hate, Donkey Punch), dance sensation Richard Winsor (Matthew Bourne’s Swan Lake; Dorian Grey, Edward Scissorhands), George Sampson, Street Dance Champions Flawless and Britain’s Got Talent winners Diversity.

BBC Two will also show BBC Films’ CONFETTI on Saturday 27th August at 23:10 and THE BOY IN THE STRIPED PYJAMAS on Tuesday 30th August at 21:00, as part of a bank holiday weekend special selection.  CONFETTI and THE BOY IN THE STRIPED PYJAMAS also simulcast on the BBC’s HD Channel.

Though the two are separated physically by a barbed-wire fence, their friendship grows and their lives become inescapably intertwined.
