New Trailer: Mission Impossible 4 - Ghost Protocol

I wouldn't be at all interested in this, but with Brad Bird directing it... I dunno, it just might be good. Having Simon Pegg in the mix should also be quite interesting!

Tagline: "The IMF is shut down when it’s implicated in a global terrorist bombing plot. Ghost Protocol is initiated and Ethan Hunt and his rogue new team must go undercover to clear their organization’s name. No help, no contact, off the grid. You have never seen a mission grittier and more intense than this."

This is what happens when two Red Dwarf fans work together:

A:  So and so wants to you see you in her office as soon as possible
B:  Oh great, it’s either about new referrals or she’s in her office naked covered in peanut butter
A:  Would it make any difference if it was.... hoummous?

Oh dear… person A was me, just in case you wondered!

Person B then won by remembering that the other spread mentioned in that sketch with Ace Rimmer was Taramasalata.

SYNOPSIS
From Academy Award-winning filmmaker Steven Spielberg, the Jurassic Park Ultimate Trilogy is one of the most successful film franchises in worldwide box-office history. On a remote tropical island, an amazing living theme park becomes a game of survival for humans foolhardy enough to set foot on it. Meticulously recreated dinosaurs spring to astonishing life as the film’s breathtaking special effects and thrilling action sequences keep audiences on the edge of their seats. Each chapter of the history-making saga delivers even more action and spectacular visual effects than its predecessor, as nature’s ultimate killing machines once again rule the earth. Almost 20 years after its inception, the Jurassic Park Trilogy remains an unmatched cinematic experience.

Jurassic Park
A multimillionaire (Richard Attenborough) unveils a new theme park where visitors can observe dinosaurs cloned using advanced DNA technology. But when an employee tampers with the security system, the dinosaurs escape, forcing the visitors to fight for their survival. Sam Neill, Jeff Goldblum and Laura Dern star in this thrilling, action-packed blockbuster from acclaimed director Steven Spielberg and based on the novel by Michael Crichton.

The Lost World: Jurassic Park
Four years after Jurassic Park's genetically bred dinosaurs ran amok, multimillionaire John Hammond (Richard Attenborough) shocks chaos theorist Ian Malcolm (Jeff Goldblum) by revealing that Hammond has been breeding more beasties at a secret location. Malcolm, his paleontologist ladylove (Julianne Moore) and a wildlife videographer (Vince Vaughn) join an expedition to document the lethal lizards' natural behavior in this action-packed thriller.

Jurassic Park III
In need of funds for research, Dr. Alan Grant (Sam Neill) accepts a large sum of money to accompany Paul and Amanda Kirby (William H. Macy and Tea Leoni) on an aerial tour of the infamous Isla Sorna. It isn't long before all hell breaks loose and the stranded wayfarers must fight for survival as a host of new -- and even more deadly -- dinosaurs try to make snacks of them. Laura Dern, Michael Jeter, Alessandro Nivola and Trevor Morgan co-star.

"A Dangerous Method" UK Cinema Release Date

DAVID CRONENBERG’S A DANGEROUS METHOD RELEASED IN CINEMAS ACROSS THE UK ON 10th February 2012

Starring Keira Knightley, Viggo Mortensen, Michael Fassbender and Vincent Cassell

London, UK Lionsgate is delighted to announce that A DANGEROUS METHOD will open in cinemas across the UK and Ireland on Friday 10th February 2012.

Director David Cronenberg (Eastern Promises, A History of Violence, Crash) helms A DANGEROUS METHOD from a screenplay by Academy Award® winning writer Christopher Hampton (Atonement, Dangerous Liaisons), adapted from his own stage play The Talking Cure.

A DANGEROUS METHOD is drawn from true-life events, and takes a glimpse into the turbulent relationships between fledgling psychiatrist Carl Jung (Michael Fassbender - Inglourious Basterds, X-Men: First Class) his mentor Sigmund Freud (Academy Award® nominee Viggo Mortensen - Eastern Promises, A History of Violence, Lord of the Rings trilogy) and Sabina Spielrein (Academy Award® nominee Keira Knightley - Never Let Me Go, Atonement, Pride and Prejudice), the troubled but beautiful young woman who comes between them. Into the mix comes Otto Gross (Vincent Cassel - Black Swan, Mesrine), a debauched patient who is determined to push the boundaries.

In this exploration of sensuality, ambition and deceit set the scene for the pivotal moment when Jung, Freud and Sabina come together and split apart, forever changing the face of modern thought.

A DANGEROUS METHOD reunites Cronenberg with Academy Award® winning producer Jeremy Thomas following their partnership on Crash and Naked Lunch. The film also brings together Cronenberg’s creative team, with whom he has a long history of collaboration on such titles as A History of Violence, Eastern Promises and eXistenZ. This includes the three-time Academy Award® winning composer Howard Shore (The Lord of the Rings trilogy), director of photography Peter Suschitzky (Star Wars: Episode V), production designer James McAteer, costume designer Denise Cronenberg (The Incredible Hulk), Academy Award® winning hair and make-up designer Stephan Dupuis (The Fly) and editor Ronald Sanders (Coraline).

Lionsgate presents a a co-production between London’s Recorded Picture Company, Lago Film, Berlin, and Prospero Pictures, Toronto, in association with Millbrook Pictures, Zurich.

NATIONAL FILM AND TELEVISION SCHOOL RAISES MORE THAN £200,000 AT THE GREAT BRITISH TALENT EVENT

The National Film and Television School (NFTS) and Pinewood Studios - two national institutions at the forefront of creating content and both celebrating milestone anniversaries in 2011 - joined forces last night, in a star-studded event in London to raise money for the NFTS.

David Arnold, the British film composer who scored five James Bond films, performed a set with Paloma Faith to an audience that included, amongst others, Director’s Paul Greengrass and Oscar winner David Hooper and actors Jason Isaacs and Robert Powell.

Hosted by Jonathan Ross, the evening featured an auction, conducted by Lord Dalmeny, Deputy Chairman of Sotheby’s, at which two James Bond ‘Casino Royale’ items – Daniel Craig’s Tuxedo by Brioni and Eva Green’s dress by Roberto Cavalli - were sold. Also under the hammer was the official published script of Oscar-winning film, ‘The King's Speech’, signed by the Director, Producer and cast, a jacket from sci-fi cult classic ‘Red Dwarf’ and an original Bellamy oil painting. Additional lots came from Michael Caine, Paul Greengrass, Michael Palin, Nick Park, Working Title, 20th Century Fox, See-Saw Films, Warner Bros, Downton Abbey and there were also walk on film roles, film and television memorabilia, VIP hotel, holiday and sporting event packages up for grabs.
During the evening, stars, leading film and television executives, and their guests took part in a specially commissioned quiz celebrating Pinewood Legends. The four categories included Early Classics, Bond & Beyond, Heroes & Villains and Magic & Fantasy.

Other highlights included, Michael Grade, Chairman, Pinewood Studios, who opened the evening, and introduced a Pinewood show reel celebrating 75 years of its work. Tom Humphries, Pinewood Commissionaire from 1958 to 1976 was honoured and Nik Powell, Director, NFTS, celebrated the 40th anniversary of the school with a show reel, directed by Ashley Pharoah and starring Philip Glenister, featuring alumni achievements.

Nik Powell, Director of the National Film and TV School said 'It always humbles us when the industries we serve - film, television, new media - turn out in such numbers and support us so generously…stars, producers, broadcasters and politicians alike. I am confident that the students at the NFTS now will make as substantial a contribution to our industry as our graduates already have and continue to do.'

Thanks to event sponsors YouTube and other supporters, all proceeds from the evening will go directly to the NFTS and will be invested in the school’s digital infrastructure, its curriculum and, most importantly, in its students. The NFTS scholarship programme ensures that the NFTS continue to fulfil its remit as a national institution of excellence to educate and train the most talented British film and television programme makers, irrespective of their financial background and helps ensure that Britain maintains its globally competitive status in the audiovisual industries.

CONAN THE BARBARIAN - New Character Banners / New Motion Poster

Lionsgate Presents Conan the Barbarian on August 24th.

Directed By Marcus Nispel. Starring Jason Momoa as Conan, plus Rachel Nichols, Stephen Lang, Rose McGowan, Said Taghmaoui and Ron Perlman

The colossal legend that is CONAN THE BARBARIAN is back this Summer. Having thrived and evolved for eight decades in the public imagination - in prose and graphics, on the big screen and small - Conan’s exploits in the Hyborian Age now come alive like never before. Shot in 3D, the reimagining of one man’s mythical battle for revenge is finally here in this Epic action-adventure film.

A quest that begins as a personal vendetta for the fierce Cimmerian warrior soon turns into an epic battle against hulking rivals, horrific monsters, and impossible odds, as Conan realises he is the only hope of saving the great nations of Hyboria from an encroaching reign of supernatural evil.

Deftly adapted from the original works of Robert E. Howard and faithful to the mythology and psychology of his iconic character, CONAN THE BARBARIAN stars Jason Momoa, Rachel Nichols, Stephen Lang, Rose McGowan, Said Taghmaoui and Ron Perlman. The film is directed by Marcus Nispel, and written by Thomas Dean Donnelly & Joshua Oppenheimer and Sean Hood.

Berlin Express (1948)

Berlin Express is an interesting film and a fascinating view of post-war Germany, with some fascinating (and disturbing) facts or opinions brought out about both Germany, the Allies and their uneasy alliance, and the effect on civillians on trying to rebuild their lives in a war-torn land.  However as a thriller it suffers greatly from an awkward script and the fact that director Jacques Tourneur couldn't seem to decide whether it was a thriller he wanted to make or a documentary.

Interesting and at times even engrossing, with some unexpected humour along the way, but the voice-over is terribly over-used and the plot is messy.  The basic plot is about a mission to get a German diplomat safely to a summit on how Germany is to be rebuilt, and follows the themes of people naturally suspicious of each other - American, French, Soviet and German - having to learn to trust one another and work together.  A worthy moral perhaps, but the way the film is developed it's not very effective as a thriller. Merle Oberon and Robert Ryan lead the cast.
