Sherlock Endeavours

British crime drama fans have been well catered for recently, with the long-awaited second series of Sherlock, starring Benedict Cumberbatch, Martin Freeman in in the first episode Lara Pulver as dominatrix Irene Adler. It's a good story with strong performances, and although there were one or two aspects I wasn't keen on, overall it's better than any of the episodes from season one - I haven't seen the second episode yet, but I'm looking forward to it.

On the other hand, Inspector Morse prelude Endeavour tracks the inspector's early days. It's a cracking story, full of complex situations and plot twists, and the fact that I've never actually seen an episode of Inspector Morse didn't hinder me from enjoying it immensely. Shaun Evans takes up the iconic role played for so long by John Thaw.
